 NEW ARTIST Give thanks - many blessings. Dumis9ne I Dumisani Chirwa (born 13th July 1994) popularly known as Dumis9ne I is a Malawian reggae/afro-dancehall artist. His stage name Dumis9ne I replaced the name Vanting which was given to him at school by his friends. His music journey started at a very tender age of 10. His journey has been influenced by different kinds of genres, but hip-hop was his first love. Throughout the years he has been experimenting on a lot of genres until he found his peace in reggae. Some of the artist who has shaped his way of delivering are artists such as Evison Matafale, VIC Marley, Bob Marley, Jah9, Chronixx, Vaughn Benjamin (voice of Akea Beka and Midnite) and Damian Marley just to name a few, without forgetting Hip Hop artists. His music has been branded Malawia gold alongside artist like Manzy don Mecca, purpose, Positive yut, Chronik,Tonga Heritage, 16bazz and other Malawian artist. Easy Nuh Man is the latest release out of the Dub Culture Records camp. With Mighty Pepper taking on production duties, delivering 2 riddims in a digital rub-a-dub style, and Sanyas-I, out of India, taking control of the mic with his uniquetoasting style.
The EP is a modern rub-a-dub effort that draws from the Jamaican artform, taking it global. Both artists are deeply influenced by early dancehall of the 70’s and 80’s and deliver those influences in their own style, both in production aesthetic, as well as lyrics and vocal delivery. The EP was mastered by Dubmatix (Canada), who’s worked with Sly & Robbie, Morgan Heritage, Alton Ellis, Mykal Rose, Mighty Diamonds, and many more.
