Delivering Powerful and Uplifting Music.
The History of DCR
Dub Culture Records (DCR) is a record label specialising in dub and reggae music. The company was founded by Jamie Jackson and Glen Richardson. A UK based label established in Bristol in 2017, a sub-label of Mindtrick Music, releasing reggae and dub tracks whilst the main label releases EDM tracks. Dub Culture Records works and is linked professionally to Killossus Sound System (a UK Sound System owned and run by the labels management team and creative pioneers), and releases their projects. Dub Culture Records has released Emaj’s latest singles, The Nyah (on 17th November 2019 (DCR 202001) and Wha Dem Seh (on 16th June 2017 (DCR201701).
In 2020 DCR continues it's mission in delivering powerful and uplifting music. You will discover an ethnic and conscious blend of World Music, Jamaican roots and UK dub inspired bass and electronic music. We are set to unveil an abundance of new material and releases. The spring will see Emaj's third release and his latest EP, 'Dub Strike' (18th May 2020) and we are thankful to present our latest artist 'Mighty Pepper' and his 'Parallel Wilderness' EP (29th May)
Blessings, 2020/2021 has seen major growth for the label and the family of artist has also grown. We welcome Mighty Danu, Ras Soto, Ja Snoke, King Scruffy and Riddim Conference to the family.
This year 2021, Mighty Danu drops his debut release 'After Blues' in Feb, April sees Ja Snoke also release his debut EP for Dub Culture Records 'Triquetra' and we have a releases from Ras Soto, Emaj, Mighty Pepper - 'Nah Go Let Them' and King Scruffy's single 'Prophecy Is About To Reveal' all set before the summer.

How would you describe the label:
'We are a small independent record label outta Bristol UK, we started in 2017. The label came about as a form of progression, as a group of friends, producers, sound enthusiasts and colleagues we have ventured down many routes together and as individuals. Dub Culture Records is one of a group of record labels that we are involved in, and one that I suggested run hand in hand with our sound system - Killoussus Sound System. Both the label and the sound system are constant works in progress and are still very infant. The most crucial thing we have in common and share is the passion, appreciation and love for sound system culture and bass music.’ - Jamie Jackson
Tell us more:
'Yes I, whilst on the second year of my degree, aware of the desire and need to have goals past the end of the course I decided to build a sound system. Bass frequencies have long been a favorite of mine, the power of feeling sub bass hitting your stomach and rattle your skeleton is pure, and a feeling I couldn’t live without. So naturally starting with two 18” subs was a given (if I had my way it would of been 21” scoops). We have been through a lot of heads for the mids and tops and are still not settled. Box building has taken a back seat over the last couple of years due to a growing family life.
Dub Culture records has been the main focus of my attention in that time, and over the last 18 months we are finally starting to really progress with the project, and due to release a vast amount of great material over the next few years.‘ - Jamie Jackson
